The children in Reception and Nursery were visited by a range of minibeasts on Thursday. This is part of their Learning Challenge Curriculum. It was lovely to see how all the children were so interested in the animals and so respectful to the keepers that brought them into school.
A great day out to Trafalgar Square for our Nelson Citizen medal winners learning about and sketching the sights in Trafalgar Square. So proud of our Nelson Citizens. Truly deserving of their medals. Exemplary behaviour, manners, team work and knowledge about the battle of Trafalgar.
Our Girls’ Football Team have won first place in their latest tournament – they didn’t lose a single match and powered through to the final in great style and They have certainly put Nelson on the map again. Take the time to look at the new trophy in our cabinet in reception! A brilliant result …
Ten children graduated at the Children’s University on Friday 28th February. They attended a ceremony at Loughborough University, in the Olympic Park. After an inspirational talk from Geoff Thompson, MBE they each received their certificates. Congratulations on all of the hard work.
Year 1 have been reading the story ‘Meerkat Mail’. They have also been learning lots about animals and their habitats. On Friday 10th January they had a visit from a real meerkat! On Tuesday 7th January our early years children had a visit from a dinosaur! He walked all the way around the school and was quite big! The children learnt lots of new facts about dinosaurs that will help them with their learning this term.
